Xbox 360 stuck on logo screen. Turned on my xbox about 20 minutes ago and it has been stuck on the screen that displays the 360 logo and xbox icon. I am able to activate the guide, but selecting home doesn't do anything. The game in the console also doesn't start up. I tried taking out my hdd and starting it up, and the console booted the game.

To check to see if this is the issue, insert a Xbox Memory Stick or a USB formatted for Xbox (if you have one) and remove the HDD, then try and restart the Xbox. If the Xbox loads properly, then there is something wrong with the HDD. (I'm assuming this is a normal Xbox 360, or an Elite version.

This happened to my console as well. All you need to do is use a can of air to blow out most of the dust that is inside of your console.
First, you need to find out if it actually is the hard drive that is corrupted. Try removing the hard drive while the console is switched off and leave it out for a few days. Continue to play games during that time, and if it stops freezing, then you've found your problem and your hard drive needs to be formatted.
